Elmo Makes Music

Emmett sure had a great time at Elmo Makes Music. I had a great time watching Emmett! I have never seen him so fascinated and joyful! He danced his heart out and then danced and sang and clapped some more. Courtney and I decided to get tickets for the show a few weeks ago and I am sure glad we did. Darby knew most of the characters and was in pure heaven. Calling out their names and waving. Emmett followed her lead and waved at all the furry people. Darby, Cooper and Emmett were so well behaved and it even lasted thru lunch. I have not gotten to actually eat my lunch at a restaurant in quite some time(we're definitely at that stage).

Emmett has recently found a stash of Daddy's cereal. "They're magically delicious!" is what I think Emmett is saying as he picks thru the cereal puffs to pick out the colorful marshmallows. He has also found pleasure in taking out all of the toys from the crock and putting himself back in. Must be a fun game.....cause the crock is almost always empty!

Something good in everything

With all bad things, there must be good. I got to visit with my family while back in Denver for a few days. It was good to see my brother Ken. He looks good and witty as always! Chrissy, too. We got to have a "few" glasses of wine on Friday night. Luke got to stay in Denver with Dayven and their friends for a beer after the service. He and Tim came back to my parent's house for a few toddy's as well. We had a good time playing cards(mom played too!) and catching up on old stories, at least that's what I can remember. Tim was attacked by Emmett's Christmas present and the game of airplane was played a few times. You know, airplane, where you lift someone up with your feet and try not to drop them. Pretty humorous pictures. Emmett loves to play this with Aunt Chrissy. He, fortunately, was already in bed by the time the adults tried to play.

Kate Williams gave Emmett a suit at his baby shower and he wore it to the service on Friday. He sure looks good in a suit. I wish my picture came out better of our family.

Passing of a dear Mother

We headed back to Denver for a very sad occasion. Dayven's mother, Karen, passed away on Wednesday. Dayven is like a brother to Luke and Karen's passing was very hard to process. It was a lovely service and Dayven spoke like a champ about his mom. Everyone had a nice lunch following in the basement of the church and laughed and cried as we shared the great memories we have with Karen. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Chrissy had fun too!

Chrissy had a great costume for Halloween this year. She (of course) made some of it : the badges, the vest, her beret.....yup... she was a girl scout. a naughty one. Even her purse was thin mint box. You are sooo creative!

Halloween Fun

So we had a really nice time on Halloween. The city of Cody holds a Trick or Treat Street event that starts early(3:30pm) and they close the downtown streets for the kids to walk store to store and "trick or treat". Not too many kids go door to door in the neighborhoods since the city offers to hold it all in one spot. It's safe, no cars and it's daylight. Not quite the experience I remember, but.....

We started at Luke's office. The ladies there wanted to see Emmett and they had candy ready for him. It was a good indicator of what to expect when we got downtown. He immediately put the candy, wrapper and all, in his mouth. By the time we left the office, he was putting the candy in his bag successfully. We did however give him a sucker for the car ride. He was so sticky and would not give the sucker up. You will notice that he has it in a deathgrip in some of the photos. He had such a great time seeing friends, all of the costumes and the store windows that were all decorated. Emmett was asleep when we got home at 5pm or so. We decided to let him take a catnap before the costume came off and dinner was ready.

Then on Saturday, we headed up to Billings with Courtney and her girls to visit the Zoo. We thought it was still nice enough weather to enjoy and probably won't be around much longer. The zoo is nice for the area. It was set up nicely and got to see the animals up close. There are not too many to look at, but it was a good time just the same. Then we decided to run an errand at Target and get some lunch. There was a Chuck e Cheese next to the Target and that's where we went. The kids loved it. Emmett cried when I tried to feed him lunch, cause he wanted to be on the toys. and cause he was exhausted. We hurried thru lunch and headed for home.

The time change has been a little rough for Emmett. Waking up at 5:30am, wanting to eat really early and not wanting to go to bed early. Hopefully he starts to adjust or we'll all go crazy!
